It’s not just any day that New York’s style set hops on a ferry headed towards New Jersey. But this Saturday, that will be the case as the eighth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic kicks off at Liberty State Park.
The San Diego Polo Club kicks off its 29th season in Rancho Santa Fe on Sunday, May 31st with Opening Day. Gates open at 12:30 p.m. for two action-packed matches at 1:30pm and 3:00pm, where local and international polo players will compete in front of an estimated 3,500 spectators.
Los Lobos defeat Ockholt to win the trophy
The 8 goal tournament proved popular this year with 15 entries separated into four different leagues. Los Lobos and AFB stormed through the initial rounds to the Final on Sunday 24 May, Ockholt and Clarita battled it out in less than ideal conditions for the Sub Final later that afternoon.
King Power Foxes remain unbeaten, after a convincing win over the Pailloncy brothers’ HB Polo Team at King Power’s home ground. HB Polo received two goals on handicap at the start of the match and so the score looked fairly respectable in the first half, despite this team failing to score at all in chukkas two and three
The UK summer polo season is well underway
Teams in the Cartier Queens Cup are now a third of the way through and The Bentley Royal Windsor Cup at Guards Polo Club also began today.
This weekend “Julius Baer Beach Polo World Cup Sylt” showed polo at its finest and delighted up to 10,000 spectators on site – including many fans of the Polo Team Maserati with Marc Aberle and Tim Ward.
King Power Foxes and Zacara both holding strong
The 22 goal Cartier Queen’s Cup is well underway with just under a third of the games now played. There are only six more games left in the initial league stages before the second round of games begin on 2 June. Zacara and King Power Foxes are both leading the way having won both of their games to date.
