A new edition of the Dubai Gold Cup Series (Dubai Open) will kick off on January 22, 2016, at Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, in Dubai.
It is the most important and highest rated polo event of the Middle East (18 goals), and is played under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai
The Gold Cup Series is comprised by the McLaren Cup (January 22 – February 5), and the Julius Baer Gold Cup (February 19 – March 11). In addition, and once the Gold Cup Series is over, the club hosts the Dubai Cup, for teams up to 10 goals, that will be played through April 8-15.
Among the participating teams are Ghantoot, double title holders of the McLaren Cup, and Zedan, winners of the Gold Cup. Zedan’s lineup will feature top polo star and 10-goaler Pablo MacDonough once again.
