GREENWICH | The road to a new fire station will take volunteers from Salem Volunteer Fire Department down Route 29 for an unusual combination fundraiser Saturday at the Surya Polo Club.
All proceeds will go toward the construction of a new firehouse.
There will be a car show from 11 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and a polo match from 4 to 5 p.m.
Pre-registration for cars is $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. To register, contact Crystal Burch at 926-9829 or email lgburch91788@msn.com.
Surya Polo Club will be putting the polo match together. There will be hot dogs, hamburgers and cold drinks for sale. No alcohol will be allowed on site. The cost to enter will be $10 per person older than 12.
For more information, call Steven Saunders at 321-9430. Those attending are advised to bring lawn chairs. The field is at the intersection of state Route 29 and Christie Road.
