El Remanso took a 12-7 win over La Indiana, in today’s single match of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup for the British Open, that took place at Manor Farm.
The Hanburys’ foursome, led by Pelon Stirling, dominated Michael Bickford’s team, who had surprised everybody in their debut game, as they only lost to King Power Foxes in extra chukka.
A close first chukka saw El Remanso leading by a narrow 3-2. But action started in the second episode: they strenghtened their attack, with Pelon Stirling in command. By half time, El Remanso was leading 7-3, and extended their advantage to a comfortable 10-3 in the fourth chukka.
La Indiana struggled to try to close the gap, but the situation was almost done: El Remanso only needed to score a couple of times in the two last chukkas, to seal the result.
The tournament will resume on Wednesday July 1, with these games:
12pm: RH vs. HB (Trippetts)
2pm: King Power vs. Dubai (Billingbear Park)
