James Beim to captain the team at Cowdray in two weeks
The HPA have, this afternoon, confirmed the four players who will be representing England at Cowdray Park Polo Club, West Sussex for the first Test Match of the season which takes place later this month. Richard Le Poer, Max Charlton, and James Harper are the trio who have been selected to join England’s newly appointed Captain, James Beim in taking on ‘The Americas’ on Saturday 16 May. Le Poer and Charlton both saw their handicaps raised at the end of the 2014 season, to 6 and 7 goals respectively, and their recent selection highlights the HPA’s belief in their current form.
A complete line-up for The Americas is yet to be confirmed although at present Chilean Jaime Huidobro and St. Regis Ambassador Nacho Figueras are expected to fill two of the four positions.
In last year’s St. Regis International, England defeated South America 11½ – 8, and the home side will undoubtedly be aiming to reclaim the prestigious title again this year.
