More Excitement in Argentina

argSemi Finalists Decided for The Camara de Diputados Cup

An exciting set of Quarter Finals on Thursday 10 December saw a selection of top British talent push through to the Semi Finals, which are due to take place the day after The Argentine Open Final in Palermo.

In the first match of the day it was Brits vs Brit as the Tomlinson brothers’ team, La Quinta, took on Max Charlton’s La Cañada. It was close throughout, rarely getting to more than two goals difference between the teams, but in the end it was a 9-8 victory for Ollie Cudmore, Luke and Mark Tomlinson with the big hitting 6 goaler Argentine Jacinto Crotto, at the back of the team.

At the same time elsewhere, La Esquina were busy beating Las Monjitas 13-11 to earn their place in the Semis alongside La Quinta.

With an almost unbearable heat in the air it was Brit player Matt Perry’s turn to thrill spectators in the fast and exhilarating tournament. This he did with élan, having a fantastic game against La Mariana, his El Remanso teammates showing us why they are the favourites of the tournament with clever, open play. The opposition didn’t have a hope and were forced to accept an 18-8 defeat. The final match of the day saw a win from La Mancha, who defeated Miramar, 11-10.

So, the Semi Finals are set and it will be Miramar vs La Quinta and El Remanso vs La Esquina to decide the finalists of this exciting tournament. The Semi Finals and Finals will take place after the Argentine Open Final on Saturday 12 December.
