Never an Open de France has been as competitive. Never levels had been so high and the teams were of such homogeneity. It took penalties sessions to designate two of the four semifinalists.
While the German team of Tom Tailor and the Swiss team of Marquard Media have been able to reach the semifinals thanks to three wins on four games for each one, it took a penalties session between Sainte Mesme I, Ghantoot Polo Club and La Quinta to determine their opponents for the semifinals of Friday (tomorrow.)
This play-off looks like a penalty session in football. Each of the three team had to kick, with three players, two 40 yards’ penalties and four 60 yards’. A game for the nerves, and at the end, La Quinta was eliminated. Thus, Sainte Mesme I remains the final French chance in this thrilling tournament against a German, a Swiss and an Emirates team.
And given the level of the games played during the first two weeks (the one yesterday between Ganthoot Polo Club and Tom Tailor was one of a kind), we can expect explosive semifinals on Friday at 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. One thing is already certain, the 15th winner of the Open de France of Polo will be a great team! A game not to be missed on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.. A final which will be preceded at 1:45 p.m. by the women’s final between Tom Tailor (female version) and Lowell with one of the best players of all time, the French Caroline Anier.
