Safety Harbor Kids threw their 8th Annual Polo Fundraiser on the polo grounds at Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, California. The charity event partnering with Tesla Motors, Sun Fire Defense and Engel Völkers was held to raise funds for orphans, foster and homeless children.
While the guests watched the polo match played by the Will Rogers Polo Club, they enjoyed wine, cocktails and a gourmet luncheon. At halftime, the champagne divot stomp sponsored by Sun Fire Defense who fire proofs luxury homes in Malibu and Worldwide, included a circus performance, caviar tasting and musical entertainment by Grammy winner, Peter Asher. Guests were then treated to desert and high tea.
“The event was a tremendous success”, says one guest from Engel & Völkers, “Beautiful people, a beautiful day and a perfect way to enjoy a polo match.” Engel & Völkers is one of the world’s leading service companies specialized in the sale and rental of premium residential property, commercial real estate, yachts and aircraft. The company is steeped in polo tradition and recently held their annual Engel & Völkers Polo Cup on Mallorca in July.
The Safety Harbor Polo Classic included eight teams of five players including Argentina born Sebastian Tkacik who plays with a 3-goal US handicap. “Safety Harbor Kids is a good charity and they do a lot to help kids – that is why I support them” he says. “I donated a weekend at my Polo Academy in Santa Barbara and they auctioned it off to Caitlyn Jenner, so I will teach her daughter how to play polo.” The Santa Barbara Polo Academy, founded by Mr. Tkacik, is located on the picturesque coast of Santa Barbara in Southern California. Sebastian, who grew up in Argentina and moved to the US to play polo professionally, started the Academy to help players of all levels establish and fine tune their polo skills in horsemanship and polo technique.
Safety Harbor Kids 9th Annual Polo Classic promises to deliver a great event next year held on the first Saturday after the US Labor Day holiday, near Malibu, California at the historic Will Rogers State Park.
