Three teams will participate in the 3rd edition of the Czech Snow Polo Masters 2016, organised by Prestige Models in association with GILL POLO. The event will be held on 5-6 February 2016 at the prestigious ski resort Špindleruv Mlyn in the Krkonosse Mountains.
In March 2014, the first Czech Snow Polo Masters, the first ever snow polo tournament in the Czech Republic, took place organised by GILL POLO. The premiere was a total success and the feedback was extremely positive. In 2015 the snow polo arena moved to a more central location and was bigger. The date was moved forward to January and this year will the event will be held February, the coldest and busiest period of the year, in order to have better snow conditions and to attract a bigger audience.
Two days of exciting polo will see Team Prestige Models, including the British players John Bunn (2), Chas Taylor (1) and Martin Stegeman (1), return to see if they can defend their title from 2015. Team Ski Areal will feature British player Michael Howe (5) with Helle Ruggaard (-1, Czech Republic / Denmark) and Marta Mirka (-1) from Poland. Third participating team will be Team Elan-Ski’s, consisting of British Player Kevin Shaw (1), Czech Player Johann Smula (-1) as well as Hosam Zowawi (0), flying in all the way from Australia. Hosam Zowawi is well known for his Superbug Polo Slayers initiative, which raises awareness of the current trend of viruses to resist anti-biotics.
