Clive Reid’s AFB team proved best of the Club’s 8-goal teams in the popular Committee Cup. This team finished runners-up last year and so were delighted to go one better and claim the trophy for themselves. They defeated Jeremy Pemberton’s Conosco in a tight game, winning through 8-5.
Pete Webb, who had been instrumental in AFB’s win, was named The Polo Magazine’s Most Valuable Player.
The Polo Times Best Playing Pony went to Conosco’s, Will Emerson and his mare Splinter, whom he had played in the third chukka.
With 16 teams taking part, Guards Polo Club hosted both a sub and sub sub final.
The sub final was won by Mo Sheikh’s BHC Polo – they defeated Vivek Rawal’s Tashan Polo 7-6.
Leander/Los Alquimistas took the sub sub match, defeating the Flying Kiwis 6-51/2.
