BEACH POLO ON THE WEST COAST FOR THE FIRST TIME

beachpoloathoteldelcoronado-75-2016-7-221GPolo America has partnered with historic Hotel del Coronado to present Beach Polo. On September 3 & 4, twelve polo players and more than fifty horses will take to the West Coast beach for the very first time. The 14-goal tournament will feature familiar names: Melissa Ganzi, Grant Ganzi, Lucas Lalor, Juancito Bollini, Bash Kazi and Pelon Escapite.

Coronado has a long history of beach polo, dating back to the early 1900s. The famous Spreckels Cup was first played in Coronado in 1909 and was billed as the Polo Challenge. Times definitely have changed, but the polo action has not. It is still exhilarating to watch polo players and horses traveling in excess of 35 mph attempting to score a goal.

The spectacle of polo, the historic Hotel del Coronado and the magnificent view of the ocean make the perfect backdrop for a memorable weekend. Attendees will be treated to two polo games each day, a meet-and-greet wine reception with players, a gourmet lunch provided by Hotel del Coronado, a fashion show by Grayse, a hat contest and much more. On September 4, festivities will have an Argentinian flair. Guests will be treated to a Tapas dinner featuring 15 different tastes and learn to dance the Tango with polo players.
