Copa Republica: the only competition in the world for teams from 0 to 40 goals. The Cup is divided into 16 circuits, winners playing the final round in Palermo and Pilar. Created by Francisco “Paco” Ceballos in 1929 , it was only in 1938 adopted when it the name Copa Republica Argentina. The first champion was team Dorrego ( Haakon Haugaard, Nicolas Ambrosius, Bonde Ambrosius, Ernesto Grant) , who won the final in Washington.
Coronel Suarez leads the board of titles won over the years with 16, the last one in 2003 (Marcos Araya, Benjamin Araya ( h ), Santiago Araya, Diego Araya).
Eduardo ” Taio ” Novillo Astrada, managed to get a title in 1990, along with his three oldest sons Eduardo ( 17 years ), Miguel ( 16) and Javier ( 14); after 15 appearances and 5 finals trying. On the other hand Juan Jose Brane with 5 victories is the player that has won the coveted Cup the most times.
The youngest winners of the title are, up to now, Benjamin Araya (1978) and Javier Novillo Astrada (1990 ) both at the age of 14. The first woman to both play and win it was Marianela Castagnola in 1997 for La Dolfina alongside his cousin Bartolome Castagnola, Adolfo Cambiaso and Guillermo Caset .
