The opening tournament of the 2016 season at Polo de Paris, Tournoi de Printemps, came to an end this weekend at the grounds of Bagatelle.
In the final match, Costa Rica and La Concepción faced each other once more. After winning all the previous matches of the tournament, La Concepcion came out as the only unbeaten team and the favourite to win the tournament.
It was a good, even game, with an experienced Argentine umpire Marcelo Lopez Vargas overseeing the play. Costa Rica took many by surprise as they won the final 6-3. The winners had Miguel Gomez on board, who became top amateur scorer, scoring 8 goals.
The top scorer of the Tournoi de Printemps was Sainte Mesme’s Robert Strom, with 18 goals. And it was Sainte Mesme who took the third place after the round robin on Sunday. Red Falcon was fourth and Cuisine Attitude fifth.
The Parisian season will resume next weekend with the Tournoi de la Ville de Paris, which ends on June 5. The Costa Rica team will have some changes in the lineup, which will include Antonio and Felipe Gómez, Juan Zubiaurre and Ivan Maldonado.
