The Argentine Polo Association has announced the handicap changes for next year; the changes be effective as of January 1, 2017.
Nico Pieres, winner of the Hurlingham Open with Ellerstina, was the only 9-goaler to be put up to 10-goals. “I am very happy,” Nico told PoloLine. “It is always nice to be put up, especially when you reach 10 goals. This is a great reward; winning the Argentine Open is much better, but this is still very important. I hope we can win again soon, so Polito can be put back up. That would be the best thing for our team.”
Joaquín Pittaluga, Iñaki Laprida, Juan Gris Zavaleta, Tito Ruiz Guiñazu and Fran Elizalde have all been raised from 7 to 8 goals.
Many players have been put down. Most notably, Polito Pieres and Sapo Caset; both players went from 10 to 9 goals.
Several players went from 9 to 8: Eduardo, Miguel and Ignacio Novillo Astrada; Agustín Merlos, Ignacio Heguy, Lucas Monteverde, Ignacio Toccalino, Sebastián Merlos, Mariano Aguerre and Alfredo Cappella. Diego Cavanagh went from 8 to 7.
