greenwich-polo-club-hilario-ulloa-nick-manifoldGreenwich Polo Club will kick-off its 35th season of high-goal polo with the opening day of the Monty Waterbury Cup on Sunday, 5th June 2016. Sunday’s match is open to the public and will feature an exclusive pre-game book signing by internationally renowned polo player Nacho Figueras from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., followed by the first match of the United States Polo Association-sanctioned Monty Waterbury Cup.

Teams competing in the Monty Waterbury Cup include White Birch (Santino Magrini, Hilario Ulloa, Mariano Aguerre and Peter Brant), Airstream (Peter Orthwein, Matias Magrini, Kris Kampsen and Guillermo Aguero), Postage Stamp Farm (Annabelle Gundlach, Nick Manifold, Joao Paulo Ganon and Brandon Phillips) and Goose Creek (Maureen Brennan, Tomas Garcia del Rio, Mariano Gonzalez and Marcos Garcia del Rio).

Nacho Figueras, the face of Ralph Lauren, will start pre-game festivities with an exclusive book signing of High Season, the first book in the romantic novel series The Polo Season, presented by Nacho Figueras and written by Jessica Whitman. The series from Forever, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing, is set against the high-society glamour of the international polo circuit. Books will be available for purchase onsite at Greenwich Polo Club from Diane’s Books of Greenwich.

Nacho Figueras: “I’m thrilled to be launching High Season with friends at Greenwich Polo Club. Whether you’re already a polo fan or completely new to the game, I hope readers will enjoy these characters and their stories.”
