A paradisiacal location and top-class polo: From 9-13 March the Patrons’ Cup Mexico 2016 will take place at Costa Careyes Polo Club, which is located at the coast of the Pacific Ocean. Four teams will compete against each other over the course of three match days, the mode of play will be “American Tournament”. Following the last match of the tournament, an award ceremony will be held. Due to the combination of coaching and tournament this event is especially suitable for players, who would like to intensively work on their handicap. At the same time, the fun of playing polo does not go short as well as the competition and thrill of fighting for victory.
In addition to the action on the polo field, the participants will also enjoy an entertaining social program: The tournament includes a Players Night Welcome Cocktail and Dinner, taking place on Friday evening, and an asado will be held on Saturday subsequent to the award ceremony. Highlight will be the one day excursion on Thursday, a boat trip on the sea.
As a preparation for the tournament, from 4-8 March a three-day polo clinic will be held under the direction of HPA umpire Jan-Erik-Franck, also known as the “Voice of polo”, as well as HPA instructor Mark Holmes. During the Stick & Ball sessions and the practice chukkas, the participants have the chance to prepare themselves together for the tournament or (this especially applies to polo players who are coming from Europe) to have an intensive training and thus, after the long winter months, once again being at their best before the start of the tournament.
