SUPA National University Arena Championships Hit Highest Entries
On Thursday 11 February the largest ever arena tournament, the SUPA National University Arena Championships will begin at Rugby Polo Club. So far it has been reported that over 150 teams have been entered by universities all over the UK for the 2016 tournament held at the Midlands Club. In addition to the normal contests for Beginners, Novices, Intermediate and Open section players, there will also be an International match on the Saturday evening between Ireland, America and Great Britain, not to mention the obligatory student party afterwards. The USPA Intercollegiate / Interscholastic Polo (I/I) are also travelling over to compete in a separate tournament alongside UK students. The I/I Program have selected; Casey Woodfin (Texas A&M Polo), Daymar Rosser (Roger Williams University Polo Club), Emma Eldredge (Cornell Polo) and Tony Uretz (Westmont Polo Team) to play on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 February.
Polo Times and The Polo Magazines’ Katie Vickery and Lucy Wilson will also be at Rugby Polo Club from Friday 12 to Sunday 14 February, reporting on all the action and offering subscriptions. Limited edition sweatshirts, trucker caps and T-shirts will also be on sale. Follow the action on our Instagram (polotimes) and Twitter feed @PoloTimes for more updates.
We look forward to seeing you all there for the world’s biggest arena polo tournament!
