Pitirri Potranca 10 vs Casa De Campo 7
MVP Rodrigo Rueda

On the last day of the qualifying stage of the Bronze Cup at Los Establos, Cap Capa, Pitirri Potranca dismantled Casa de Campo in game that never let the latter get ahead. Tomás Pieres led the way in the constant counter attacks that the under dogs tried to launch, but they were victim again to both Pitirri’s 2 goal handicap and an early couple of goals by Lerin Zubiaurre. Rodrigo Rueda didn’t actually score any goals but was instrumental in every winning play for his team and well deserved his MVP position. Deny Santana also had a tremendous game and was rewarded with 4 goals in the consecutive chukkas 2,3,4 and 5.

Power Infastructure 10 vs Los Samanes 6
MVP Nacho Novillo Astrada

One of the most even and enjoyable games of the series saw ‘a Power’ neck and neck with Los Samanes, even behind, until the second half of the 3rd. chukka. Iñaki Laprida, as usual delivered a first rate performance while Nacho Novillo Astrada was brilliant and earnt himself MVP for the second game in a row. He put in the first two as well of the last goal of the day. Los Samanes were resilient to the end, even after two from Laprida added to Novillo Astrada’s two were put onto the scoreboard and left them trailing. However after that it was catch up for Los Samanes; and they had 4 exceptional attempts at goal that were denied. Santi Toccalino was able to convert 4 with Silva putting away 1, but the combination of Iñaki and Nacho (the only goal scorers for Power) was too much and they finished behind with a 10-6 scoreline.

Therefore, the tournament’s qualifying stage has come to an end. Lechuza, Agualinda, Los Samanes and Power Infrastructure will be able to play the semifinal matches, that are due on Wednesday January 27, at Los Establos.
