At the Thai Polo Club, in Pattaya, Thailand, the semifinals for the Thai Polo Open 2016 took place on wednesday. The matchdate started with the game between 22BR and The Next Level/Macau, a much awaited match, with lots to offer and many players with the ability to make a difference. And even though TNL/Macau scored a 3-1 in the first chukka, the great performance by Agustín García Grossi, plus the good defense showed by his teammates was too much for their rivals. Final score was 11-5 to 22BR and they will play the final.
Later on, was the turn for Thai Polo and La Sarita, also with the promise of good polo. Was a tight game, well played, in which both teams found it difficult to score. A late goal by Thai Polo in the fourth and last chukka set the 4-3 winning by the locals.
Activity will resume on friday with the match for the fifth place between Royal Pahang and HLF, while the finals will be on saturday.
The order of play will be as follows:
Friday:
4:30 PM: Field 2, Fifth Place: Royal Pahang vs HLF.
Saturday:
2:15 PM: Field 1, EFG BANK POLO Cup: Royal Pahang vs HLF.
3:15 PM: Field 1, Third Place: TNL/Macau vs La Sarita.
5:00 PM: Field 1, Grand Final “BMW-B.Grimm Thai Polo Open”: 22BR vs Thai Polo.
