Ellerstina Hold Their Ground
In the fourth day of play in the Tortugas Open in Argentina the Pieres family team Ellerstina defeated Washington in a whitewash game beating the score gap between La Dolfina and El Paraiso to finish the game on Monday 3 October 16-5. There had been two team replacements before the game, Mariano Aguerre took Pablo Pieres spot, following a game suspension and Tomas Garcia de Rio stepped in for an injured Ezequiel Martinez Ferrario. This is Washington’s second defeat in the tournament after losing to Alegria by a goal on Tuesday 27 September. The game didn’t start well for them, losing all the throwins and watching on as Ellerstina scored no less than 9 consecutive goals. They now join El Paraiso on the bench and out of the running for the Final. Two games remain before the Final on Sunday 15 October. On Saturday 8 October front-runners La Dolfina will play their second game against La Aguada Las Monjitas and Ellerstina will play Alegria on Sunday 9 October. With such a draw it looks likely that the Final will be between La Dolfina and Ellerstina as Alegria only narrowly won against Washington and it was a similar story between La Aguada Las Monjitas and El Paraiso.
