2015ArenaTestMatchLWBryan Morrison Trophy Teams Announced and Arena Gold Cup Begins
The team line-ups for the 2016 Bryan Morrison Trophy have been announced for the international contest at the All England Polo Club, Hickstead on Saturday 5 March. England, Captained by 10 goaler Chris Hyde, includes Jonny Good (8) and up-and-coming player Ed Banner-Eve (4). They will take on USA, Captained by 10 goaler Tommy Biddle who will play alongside Pelon Escapite (7) and Kareem Rosser (3). The warm up game before the Bryan Morrison Trophy will see regulars at this event Clogau Wales with a line-up of Peter Webb (7), Roddy Matthews (5) and Captain, Ricky Cooper (1) take on Evgeny Chichvarkin’s Hedonism Wines team with Roy Prisk (3) and Jack Richardson (7). Polo Times are also proud to announce that they will be providing the Polo Times Best Playing Pony Award and our sister publication will be awarding The Polo Magazine Most Valuable Player Award for the Bryan Morrison Trophy. The Arena Gold Cup at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club is well underway with the first four games completed. In the first game of the tournament, on Thursday 18 February, Germany based team Picazo Polo Stud defeated Gaucho with a convincing score of 24-21. Their next game will be against Sifani who lost their first game against Gaucho on Sunday 21 February with a final score of 22-16. Four Quarters Orange have had a mixed bag of results so far. They lost their first game against Twelve Chops by 6 goals with a final result of 20-14, but subsequently won against Regal Eclipse with huge gap of 28-18. Regal Eclipse, having had Ed Banner-Eve step in for his brother who has been accompanying HPA Select Youth out in Florida, will return to their original line-up for their next game against Charlie Wooldridge’s Twelve Chops on Tuesday 23 February. The Semi Finals will be played on Thursday 25 and the Finals on Saturday 27 February for the Bronze, Silver and Gold Cups. Polo Times will once again be providing the Polo Times Best Playing Pony Award and our sister publication will be awarding The Polo Magazine Most Valuable Player Award for the Final.
