FIRST INTERNATIONAL POLO SCHOOL OPENS IN MEXICO

La Patrona, an equestrian club located in San Pancho, a costal town on the Rivera Nayarit which overlooks the Pacific Ocean, will open Mexico’s first international polo school this weekend. The school aims to aid the leaning and development of polo in Mexico, and specifically looks to improve the economic and social situation of the local community.
Several representatives of Guards Polo Academy, led by Ebe Sievwright, will attend the opening ceremony. The event will begin with an exhibition match in the specialised polo arena. Polo professionals such as Martín Tassara, Tatú Gómez Romero, Lucas di Paola and Rigoberto Gutiérrez will take part in the exhibition.
They will be joined by local La Patrona players: five Mexicans who began playing in the club. Tomás Elliot and Sebastián Dawnay, Director of the Polo School, will also be present. There will also be a delicious Sunday Brunch served at the club’s polo lounge.
La Patrona Polo & Equestrian Club is located in the Tierra Tropical complex, a company that works to develop tourism and real estate in a sustainable and responsable manner. The club regularly organises gastronomical and cultural events, always working alongside the community and city hall. With the objective of promoting tourism in the region, the club provides many sporting possibilities, with social responsibility, respect for nature and sustainable development as the pillars of everything they do.
Daniel Peyret (C.E.O. Tierra Tropical): “Even before the polo school has opened the club has attracted the attention of many polo players around the world. So much so that the women’s Canadian polo team from Calgary recently visited to establish links between the club and women who are beginning to play polo in Canada. One of the most attractive features of the club is the first-class quality of its infrastructure, fit for every level of polo, and not to mention the absolute beauty of the surrounding landscape. The equestrian center and La Patron polo club were created around a vanguard model, but we never lost respect for the surrounding environment. That is why the technology we use here meets all the needs of the surrounding flora and fauna.”
