Dubai Gold Cup Continues
The Polo Masters Cup, the second trophy as part of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series 2017 is well underway with five teams competing for the trophy. The 14 goal tournament began on Tuesday 7 February, with Mahra Polo defeating Habtoor Polo 9-8 in a thrilling and fiercely fought match, whilst Wolves displayed excellent teamwork which paid off in an 8-5 victory against Bangash. The action continued yesterday, Thursday 9 February, with Habtoor Polo taking on Bin Drai at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort. Habtoor Polo took control from the outset, achieving a strong four goal lead by half-time, a lead which continued throughout the remaining two chukkas, despite the best efforts of Bin Drai, and resulted in a final score of 7-4 in favour of Habtoor Polo. Guillermo Cuitiño and Tomás Beresford (Habtoor Polo) were the top scorers of the match with 3 goals apiece.
The action in Dubai continues today, Friday 10 February, with Wolves Polo taking on Mahra Polo and Bin Drai vs Bangash on Sunday 12 February, with the Finals scheduled for Tuesday 14 February.
