The XI FIP World Polo Championship 2017

The XI FIP World Polo Championship, 2017 is an Olympic grade event being held at Sydney Polo Club, Richmond NSW Australia. 8 of the world’s best Polo teams will compete in the XI FIP World Polo Championship, an international polo tournament and festival, from October 21-29, 2017. The festival is a huge victory for the Hawkesbury region in Australia and will place our great sport on a world stage.

 

The XI FIP World Polo Championship will attract tens of thousands of attendees and incorporate an array of equine disciplines including jousting, show jumping, vaulting as well as a festival with family friendly activities, village market stalls and art activations.

 

A recent visit from Mr Alejandro ‘Alex’ Taylor, CEO of the Federation of International Polo (FIP), saw the arrival of the World Polo Championship Trophy. Alex engaged with the Sydney Polo Club directors and the event management team to understand the journey of the XI FIP World Polo Championship thus far after which Alex conveyed to the media “I have no doubt that this will be the best Polo Championship in history”.

 

Nations that have qualified for the event thus far include the reigning champions of Chile as well as; Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, England, Spain and the USA. The 8th and final qualifier will be announced on Friday July 7.
