New Zealand vs Malaysia
Today, Thursday 2 February, New Zealand and Malaysia faced each other in the Final of the Asia-Pacific qualifiers for the World Polo Championships at Thai Polo & Equestrian Centre. This match determined which team reached the Championship rounds which are scheduled to be held on 21 – 29 October 2017 in Sydney. Today was not the first time Malaysia and New Zealand have faced each other, in 2011 Malaysia beat New Zealand in the Zone D Playoffs, but today New Zealand reasserted their dominance with a final score of 9- 5½. New Zealand also cleared up in the post-match presentations, with Cody Forsyth being named Most Valuable Player and Dogo, owned by Mohamed Moiz and played by Henry Jones, was awarded Best Playing Pony rug.
