2018 RMPA INTERNATIONAL LEAGUE DRAWS

Four teams are entered for the 12-goal RMPA International League’s first two tournaments, the RSPC Open and the RMPA Classic.  League champions Thai Polo are back for another season in Malaysia.  They will be hoping to continue their dominance in the RMPA International League.  Dato’ Harald Link’s Thai Polo had another amazing season in 2017, winning the RMPA International League for a fourth consecutive year and seventh time in total.  They return with Raul Laplacette and Carlos Pando, who has taken up the position as the newly appointed professional at the Singapore Polo Club.

Royal Pahang Polo Club, with HRH Tengku Hassanal, HH Tengku Mohammad and HH Tengku Amir will try to wrest the title away from Thai Polo.  They were decisive winners at the Thai Polo Open in January, the first leg of the four-leg RMPA International League.

Dato’ Mohamed Moiz and La Familia will be strong contenders.  The team, built around Gines Bargallo and Malaysian SEA Games team captain Shaik Reismann, is very experienced.  While it is a nicer way of saying they are the oldest team in the league, La Familia are a team that can win tournaments, and were runners up in the 2017 RMPA International League.

Asad Jumabhoy’s La Sarita will be looking for success again, rebuilding again after two seasons without much success.  Ameer Jumabhoy will be looking to regain his form up front, while his father helms the team from the back position.  Agustin Andrada has been having a low and medium goal season and will look to quickly form a partnership with their new 7-goaler, reputed to be Matias Torres Zavaleta.

The draws for the first two RMPA International League tournaments were done on Saturday 30th June at the Royal Selangor Polo Club.  The format is the same for both these tournaments, and the drawn schedules is as follows:
