The Diplomats Polo Cup – Prague 2018, an international polo tournament is taking place in the Czech capital from Friday, 15th to Sunday 17th, June. Spectators, in particular, families can look forward to the excitement of thrills & spills on the field and a rich programme of entertainment off it. This year’s event is being held under the auspices of the Embassy of Brazil in Prague.
The three-day tournament, hosted by the Prague Country and Polo Club in Prague will take place in Velká Chuchle. The tournament is open to the public and for the day of the Grand Finals, which are taking place on Sunday, June 17th from 12:00 noon tickets are required. Polo fans, horse enthusiasts as well as families are welcome to come and enjoy a day out at an exciting and unique sports event. A polo match can be just as engaging off the field. The traditional “divot stomping” takes place in between matches and gives spectators a chance to meet the players and the horses.
Four teams of players with a team handicap of up to +2 are registered to compete for this prestigious cup. Players are coming from Europe and worldwide and consist of enthusiastic amateurs and polo professionals. Exciting and high profile matches are therefore guaranteed.
On Friday matches will start at 15:00 o’clock and on Saturday at 14:00 o’clock. The Sunday’s Grand Finals start from 12:00o’clockand will include an opening ceremony with a representative from the Embassy of Brazil, high-class catering, “have-a-go-polo“ practice area, VIP tent, live-music by Brazilian singer Santiago Ferreira, an award ceremony and much more. Spectators have the chance in winning lucrative prizes, such as a private flight from Prague to Vienna and back by E-Jet Exclusive Charter.
The event supports the organization Kapka Naděje, a Czech non-for-profit organisation helping children suffering from cancer and their families.
