Ghantoot polo match to raise autism awareness

Dubai: Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club will attempt to highlight autism awareness by hosting a polo match between Zayed High Organisation Team and Future Centre Polo Team on Friday, March 2.
The match is organised as part of a campaign that aims to encourage people to join the movement to raise public awareness and address the challenges faced by those living with the condition.

Abdullah Bin Dasmal will spearhead Team Zayed against Fahad Al Qubaissi’s Future Centre Team in the match that will be played at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club at 5.15pm.
Ahmad Ali Al Samak, Ali Al Marri and Nasser Al Shamsi will also represent Team Zayed while Qubaissi will have the support of Saif Ahmad Al Ghurair, Youssef Bin Dasmal and Saoud Khouri.
This is the third consecutive year that the Autism Charity Polo match is being held at the UAE’s premier polo facility.
The Charity event, which comes complete with a horse show, is one of many inspiring initiatives that are being held across the country to commemorate the historic 100th birth Anniversary of Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the Founding Father of the UAE.
The management of Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club, led by Saeed Bin Hoofan, the club’s Vice Chairman, have left no stone unturned in their efforts to raise awareness about autism and are encouraging the people to get involved in the growing autism community, which is getting bigger and better with each passing year.
“Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club’s history and mission are grounded in its grassroots efforts to encourage individuals, and families, to get involved and take action on such important issues as autism,” said Bin Hoofan.
“We must deliver a strong message across the UAE, Middle East and World, that we are united in our goal to increase people’s knowledge and understanding of autism in general and how to deal with successfully.
“Through our collective efforts we hope that events like the Autism Charity Polo Match will benefit this worthy cause,” Bin Hoofan added.
Abu Dhabi Sports Council (ADSC) are the Governing Partner and Maserati (Premier Motors), the official car of the event.
Helal Hanei Omar, Vice President, Premier Motors, commented: “Premier Motors, the official dealer for Maserati cars in Abu Dhabi, is pleased to support the Autism Charity Polo Match being held as part of the 2017-2018 season at the Ghantoot Racing & Polo Club (GRPC). Supporting such worthy causes for the benefit of various sections of the community around us is commendable.
“We applaud the GRPC for their efforts and support towards raising awareness for autism through its forthcoming event.”
Along with the action on the field there will be something for everyone on March 2, including a show by the K9 section of Abu Dhabi Police who will put on memorable and enjoyable dog shows for audiences of all ages.
