Santa María Polo Club gets ready for a very exciting upcoming season, on an amazing spot which has established as one of the greats of the polo European summer. Once again, the Torneo Internacional de Polo will feature 3 different levels of polo, which will take place during August in Spain.
Santiago Torreguitar, Polo Manager of Santa María Polo Club, spoke to Pololine and said: “The season in Sotogrande goes on like normal. We have same amount of teams in the high-goal as last year, few different players in each team, but it will be similar. Facu Pieres will come, also Juanma Nero, Pelon, Pablo Mac Donough. During the months June-July we play two levels, 4-6 level and 10-12. Sotogrande is a bit more relaxed at that time, the fields are fantastic and the weather conditions are perfect”.
On the dates, he anticipates: “The date for August we will start around 26, 27 of July and we will finish on the last weekend of August, Friday 31st, and Saturday 1st of September. The format will be the same. The Bronze Cup is a single elimination tournament, and then we have the Silver and the Gold which are league tournaments. We have to see the amount of teams, but we play on a league with semifinal and the final”.
