The Westchester and Thai Polo Club Ladies teams are announced
Last week, the Hurlingham Polo Association (HPA) announced the names of the male and female players who will take part in The International Day at The Royal County of Berkshire Polo Club this Saturday, 28 July.
At 3pm the Flannels England Team will take on the USA in the iconic Westchester Cup. The teams will be as follows:
Flannels England (25): James Beim (7 – Captain), Ollie Cudmore (6), James Harper (7) & Tommy Beresford (5). Reserve Jack Richardson (7)
USA (28): Julio Arellano (8), Jeff Hall (7), Nic Roldan (8) & Peke Gonzalez (5). Reserve Carlucho Arellano (5)
Later on in the day at 5.15pm, two ladies teams will be taking to the ground for The Thai Polo Club Ladies International for The Diamond Jubilee Trophy. The teams will be as follows:
Flannels England Ladies (28): Rosanna Turk (3), Tamara Fox (7), Hazel Jackson-Gaona (8) & Nina Clarkin (10 – Captain). Reserves Emma Wood (6), Rosie Ross (6) & Katie Vickery (3)
Rest of the World Ladies (28): Philippa Fitz-Henry (6), Tiva Gross (6), Lía Salvo (9) & Sarah Wiseman (7)
The day prior, junior teams from England and the USA will be competing for The Junior Westchester Cup at Black Bears Polo Club. The match will mark the beginning of an exciting weekend of polo. The International Day will be the perfect day out, with two world-class polo matches alongside a bustling trade village and a plethora of refreshments courtesy of British Polo Gin, one of the Official Drinks Partners. Prior to the polo matches, British Dressage star and three time Olympic gold medallist Charlotte Dujardin CBE will be showcasing her training techniques with a range of her horses, with the aim to introduce the ‘polo crowd’ to the intricate detail and poise of her sport.
The day will conclude with an exclusive after party, brought to revellers by Vanilla VIP and RCBPC. With Gin bars, live music, outdoor seating and 40 VIP tables, the evening is set to be the perfect end to a perfect polo day.
