Dallas Burston Polo Club raise £1,000 for Oxford hospice

A POLO club raised more than £1,000 for Oxford’s children’s hospice.

Dallas Burston Polo Club raised the cash for Helen and Douglas House in memory of a young girl who passed away there six years ago in 2013.

Charlotte Walter’s family said she received ‘incredible support’ from the east Oxford hospice and were ‘thrilled’ by the amount of money raised.

Charlotte’s brother Adam said: “My family and I are always so grateful to the polo club for hosting this very special event.

Helen & Douglas House were so incredibly supportive to my sister and have continued to support my family since.

“We were extremely happy to have raised such a great amount for the hospice, it’s nice to be able to give something back.”

The polo club, in Southam near Leamington Spa, raised the money at an annual tournament in Charlotte’s memory.

The cash came almost entirely from a raffle held at the event.

The winners of the tournament were Oxford Polo, pictured above with Charlotte’s parents Sue and Fred Walter.
