King Power Gold Cup Semi Finals

Final four decided

The final four teams have been decided for The King Power Gold Cup, following a thrilling weekend of matches. Cartier Queen’s Cup winning Scone kicked off the weekend, with an 11-10 win over rivals Talandracas. Scone took the early lead, but in the second, third and fourth chukka, Talandracas came back with a vengeance. Scone turned the tables in the fifth, but Talandracas were hot on their heels. In the final seven minutes, Scone moved one goal ahead to take the win and the first Semi Final spot.In a similarly close match, VS King Power secured their Semi Final position with a 13-12 win against Corinne Ricard’s Murus Sanctus. VS King Power took the lead early on and held it throughout, but Murus Sanctus came charging back in the final two chukkas, but it wasn’t quite enough.On Sunday 14 July, the matches were just as close, with Park Place securing a 9-8 victory against Emlor and Dubai defeating La Indiana 8-7. In a very exciting match, Park Place were 8-3 down in the sixth chukka of their Quarter Final and came back to win the match 9-8 with a flurry of goals.The King Power Gold Cup Semi Finals will take place on Wednesday 17 July at Cowdray Park Polo Club in the following order:12pm: VS King Power vs Park Place4pm: Dubai vs Scone PoloThe Final is scheduled to take place at 3pm on Sunday 21 July, with a full report following in the next issue of Polo Times.
