KSAT-TV anchor Ursula Pari breaks several bones, undergoes surgery after horseback riding accident

KSAT-TV’s Ursula Pari shared some personal news on her Facebook page Sunday morning. The veteran anchor told her viewers she recently underwent surgery after a horseback riding accident.

According to her Facebook post, the incident happened on a polo field and left her with several injuries, including broken ribs, a broken clavicle and a broken thumb.

“During the end of the third chucker, I did a complete wipeout reaching for the ball on the way to the goal,” Pari said. “I had to have surgery and I was in the hospital for awhile at (Brooke Army Medical Center). Those doctors did a great job over there.”

Pari has been playing polo since 1989 and said this is her first serious injury. Despite the accident, she said there was some good news — the team won the game.

The San Antonio anchor has been recovering at home while her family takes care of her.

“There’s not much I can do right now with these broken parts,” she said. “So I’m going to be off the air for a while longer.”

Pari thanked her viewers for all the well wishes and encouraged them to continue sending her kind messages while she’s recovering.
