It was an action-packed Monday as the Subsidiary semifinals saw four teams compete at the Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club. Abu Dhabi Polo played against Mahra Polo and Zedan Polo against Dubai Wolves The first game between Abu Dhabi and Mahra Polo teams started as close one and proceeded at a 3 goal advantage for Mahra all the way to half with goals delivered equally by Diogo Gallego and Pelayo Berazadi. The goals scored by the Abu Dhabi Polo team during the last two chukkers of the game were not enough to close in on the other team and resulted to a final score of 11.5 – 8 in favour of Mahra.
Score Mahra: 2.5-3, 6.5-3, 8.5-5, 10.5-6, 11.5-8.
Top Scorer: Pelayo Berazadi, 7 goals.
The second match progressed in a one-sided affair as Zedan Polo competed against Dubai Wolves. By the third chukker, Zedan had taken a significant lead at 6 goals to 1 with Dubai Wolves missing a few chances to score. At the fifth chukker, Dubai Wolves’ Marcos “Cacu’ Araya had scored 3 goals for the team but wasn’t enough to gain an advantage to which the last chukker ended at 9 goals for Zedan and with 6 for Dubai Wolves.
Score Zedan: 1-1, 3-1, 6-1, 9-2, 9-6.
Top Scorer: Martin Gandara, 4 goals.
