The historical AlUla Desert Polo came to an end on Saturday after three days of great polo. It was the first ever official polo tournament played in Saudi Arabia, and it was organised by Amr Zedan, the Saudi Polo Federation, which was formed in July 2018, and the Royal Commission for AlUla. In the competition aspect, Amaala, with HSH Prince Carl von Oettingen-Wallerstein, George Spencer Churchill and the argentine Nacho Figueras, who played instead of injured Juan Martín Nero, claimed the title after beating in the final AlUla Team, with HRH Prince Abbas bin Ali Bin Nayef, Mohammed Al Habtoor and Adolfo Cambiaso.
The AlUla Desert Polo took place at a purpose-built Desert Arena in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site of AlUla in Saudi Arabia, and it will be open to the public in October, 2020.
AlUla Desert Polo was held as part of the Winter at Tantora festival organised by the Royal Commission for AlUla, an organisation designed to protect and promote the historic and archeological sites at the location.
