In Ladakh, as part of the National Celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, CEC LAHDC Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan inaugurated the 1st LG Horse Polo Cup at Goshan Horse Polo Ground Drass.
A total of 14 teams from all over Ladakh are participating in the tournament. Feroz Ahmad Khan said that thinking of the scope of the indigenous Games like Archery, Ice Hockey and Horse Polo for the Players and youths of Ladakh, UT Administration led by LG Ladakh RK Mathur is giving special attention in the promotion of these games so that Ladakh can produce National and International Players in these games.
After Ladakh Became Union Territory we can see lots of activities happening in Kargil last Year particularly in Zanskar, the CEC requested the UT Administration to expand the area of organizing such events and bring such events in Winter to areas like Suru, Kargil and Particularly Drass so that Kargil became a hub of winter Games and Adventure Sports.
Drass is considered as the Hub of Horse Polo in Ladakh as there is a huge population of Horses in the area.
