The IFZA Silver Cup semifinals saw Habtoor Polo and UAE Polo take wins at Al Habtoor Polo Resort and Club on Tuesday. The tournament is the opening competition of the Dubai Gold Cup Series; six teams, up to 18 goals, are competition.
In the first match of the day, Habtoor Polo made an impressive comeback in the last to beat Dubai Wolves by CAFU, who has the advantage for most of the match. Habtoor Polo’s Facundo Sola led his team to a 9-8 victory, securing a place in the final.
The second match of the afternoon was a bit different, with UAE Polo overpowering their opponents from the start. While Bangash managed to fight back in the first three chukkas, the last two saw them struggle as UAE Polo continued their attack, with Tomas Panelo and Lucas Monteverde Jr. scoring six goals between them to qualify for the final.
The results mean that Habtoor and UAE Polo will go head to head in Friday’s final at 3:45pm.
Prior to the match, Zedan and IFZA Mahra will play for the subsidiary trophy, the Hildon Cup.
