IMPHAL, Mar 23 : Tekcham Polo Club-A defeated Thoubal District Polo Association-A to win the title of the 1st Thoubal District Polo Tournament organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association.
It was indeed an exciting final clash though both sides drew blank in the first chukker before M Kuper opened up the account 3.33 minutes into the second chukker to give Tekcham Polo Club the headway.
Th Kabita Singh however grabbed a goal back for the Thoubal District Polo Association in the last minute of the chukker to enter into the break with score level at 1-1.
The third chukker turned out to the decider of the game as S Sadananda scored twice and M Doren added a single to help Tekcham Polo Club take a comfortable 4-1 lead.
The Thoubal District Polo Association work diligently to close the gap but ended up with a goal in the last chukker through M Manihar and ultimately the Tekcham team who were playing at their own Kangjeibung walked away with a 4-2 win and the tournament trophy.
