The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia crystallises its influence in the world of polo with an annual two-day tournament, organised in collaboration with the Swiss luxury watchmaker
Richard Mille, in partnership with the Saudi Polo Federation, has just held the second season of its world-class polo tournament in AlUla.
From February 11-12, the international polo elite descended on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the exclusive event.
Set against the magnificently dramatic backdrop of the AlUla canyons, in close proximity to Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra, the two-day tournament is the first of its kind to be held in the Saudi desert.
Organised in collaboration with the Royal Commission of AlUla, the event brought together globally acclaimed stars of the sport, including Pablo MacDonough who proudly donned his Richard Mille RM 53-01 Tourbillon watch throughout the duration of the competition.
As the official Timekeeper of the tournament, the sustained support of Richard Mille has been seminal to Saudi Arabia’s foray into the prestigious world of polo. From here on out, the event will officially be titled the Richard Mille AlUla Desert Polo.
This year’s tournament champions were Team AlUla, who took the win 5 to 4 against Team Richard Mille.
