X-Polo Club and K&MM Riding School-A eased into the quarterfinals of the 36th N Hazari & Dr N Tombi State Polo Tournament 2022, following their victories on Thursday.
X Polo Club started the day with a 13-4 hammering of Tentha Polo Club as Th Jacob Singh led the barrage with a five goal salvo.
The X-Polo riders trailed 2-1 in the opening chukker after L Rabikanta and P Nikash scored for Tentha PC while P Ojit converted for the former.
However, X-Polo bounced back strongly in the second chukker and overturned the scoreline by racking up six goals against one by their opponents.
In the period, Th Jacob got his mallet roared into action hammering four goals as teammate L Atang-ba struck twice while Bikash scored for Tentha.
X-Polo then pumped in four more goals in the third chukker with a double each from L Tolongkhomba and Atangba as the scoreline read 11-3 .
In the fourth chukker, X-Polo added two goals through Ojit and Jacob to wrap up the victory.
Tentha’s third goal was scored by Rabikanta.
K&MM Riding School-A joined X-Polo Club in the last eight with an 11-4 thrashing of Khurai Polo Club.
L Tarun made his mark with an impressive haul of six goals for the winning side as teammate Ch Ajit did his bit with a treble, and W Johny and L Dhareshwor contributed one goal apiece.
K&MM Riding School-A and X-Polo Club will square off in a quarterfinal match.
