Turab, Basel steer Remington JPF to title win in U19 Jr Polo

LAHORE – Phenomenal and super-talented Syed Muhammad Turab Rizvi and Basel Faisal Khokhar steered Remington JPF Team to a title victory in the Gobi’s Paints 3rd U19 Junior Polo Championship 2022 here at the Jinnah Polo Fields (JPF) ground on Friday.

Remington JPF played impressive polo against BX Polo Team and thumped them with a good margin of 10-5 in the final. Syed Muhammad Turab Rizvi was hero of the final as the sensational polo player did magic with mallet and pony and smashed in five fantastic goals from the winning side. Basel Faisal Khokhar, who was the top scorer of the tournament, also convinced the spectators with his impressive horse and mallet work and also contributed with four goals while Nazar Dean Ali Khan converted one goal.

BX Polo Team, which had two goals handicap advantage, also fought well throughout the tournament but in the final, they couldn’t match the pace and venom of Remington JPF, thus lost the final by 5-10. Muhammad Matloob Aizad was the only player, who fought bravely against the high-flying Remington JPF, and managed to convert a convincing hat-trick, but his efforts couldn’t bear fruit for his side.

Gobi’s Paints Director Mrs. Amna Asif, along with Actress Maya Ali and Wahaj, graced the concluding ceremony as chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners and top performers. Other notables present on the occasion were the entire cast of drama serial “Jo Bichar Gaye”, polo players, their families and a good number of spectators.

Speaking on the occasion, actress Maya Ali said: “I am very glad that I witnessed such a high-quality and action-packed polo final here at the Jinnah Polo Fields ground. The emerging polo players really inspired me and the entire crowd with their superb polo skills and techniques and we are looking forward to see more exciting and enthralling polo matches in future.”
