Arvind Polo Club and Paradise Polo Club-B triumphed in contrasting styles as the 38th Men’s State Level Polo Tournament 2023 entered its fifth day on Thursday.
Arvind Polo Club eliminated Ibudhou Marjing Polo Club-B in a 9-2 hammering of their opponents.
Ak Ibomcha made the most of the rout scoring four goals while A Abung impressed with a treble in their win.
The Arvind riders started off with a 3-1 lead after Ak Ibomcha struck twice and S Ranjan also converted in the first chukker, while their opponents scored a goal through Yumkhaibam Nowboy.
Arvind PC then upped the ante in the second chukker collecting two goals through A Abung and Ibomcha.
In the third chukker, they further stretched their lead to 7-1 courtesy of a pair of goals from Abung.
Arvind PC wrapped up the victory by getting two more goals in the fourth chukker through S Ranjan and Ibomcha.
Ibudhou PC’s could add only one goal in the last chukker through Thaodem Robert.
Earlier, Paradise Polo Club- B overcame a stiff challenge from K&MMRS-B to grind out a 3-2 success.
In the first chukker, both teams were tied 1-1 as A Bijeshwor put K&MMRS ahead before Th Bhogat Kumar drew level for Paradise PC.
K&MMRS gained the upper hand in the second chukker with Bijeshwor on target for the second time.
But Paradise PC fought back in the third chukker to even the scores (2-2) after Bhogat scored his second goal before teammate K Premkumar struck in the winner in the fourth chukker.
