The final of the competition with up to 20 goals was played before 2,000 people at General Rodríguez, where the team that was crowned champion won 12-11.
Bel Polo was consecrated champion of the “Ellerstina” tournament of the Argentina Polo Tour after winning in an agonizing way in the Grand Final by 12-11 against Synergy Cloning in General Rodríguez, where the Buenos Aires stage of the competition closed before 2,000 spectators.
The Argentina Polo Tour Tournament will soon move to Rosario, Santa Fe, where the next stage will be held from May 30 to June 4.
The competition was created in 2006 and is held annually during the fall, on courses specially chosen for their quality. More than 40 teams participated in this 2023 edition, with players from Argentina, Chile, USA, Uruguay, Colombia, France, Switzerland, Austria, England, Bulgaria and Spain.
Ellerstina was the last of a series of four polo tournaments that rotated through the different fields and Clubs of the General Rodríguez and Cañuelas Party. It began on April 5 and included the participation of 12 teams with up to 20 goals, playing 6 games per date in three zones.
In the Grand Finale, henry lunnof the winning team, was featured as MVP. The winning team was also made up of Edward Banner-Eve, Joaquín Pittaluga and Sebastián Merlos.
The Polo Tour has a strong impact on the value chain, since it nurtures the different professionals in the polo industry: players, groomsmen, blacksmiths, etc. More than 1,500 people work in the Polo Industry in the General Rodríguez area and the same number indirectly.
Present at the awards ceremony were the mayor of the municipality of General Rodríguez, Mauro García, together with Gonzalo Pieres, an undisputed reference to polo, and the organizer and president of the Argentina Polo Tour, Pablo Llorente.
