INTRODUCING WOMEN OF WELLINGTON MEDIUM-GOAL POLO LEAGUE HOSTED BY FLYING COW POLO CLUB

Flying Cow Polo Club located in Wellington, Florida, is proud to announce the creation of the Women of Wellington (WOW) medium-goal polo league offering more options to female players to compete in organized polo in a location with a strong polo presence. WOW will provide playing opportunities and a platform to promote amateur and professional women’s players to encourage greater participation in the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship.

Flying Cow Polo Club will host multiple 10- to 14-goal USPA Women’s events January through April 2024 and the WOW schedule will not conflict with the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship. The formation of the league aims to enable young, new and otherwise unincorporated female players to participate in organized tournaments with USPA’s professional umpires on quality fields. The league will provide valuable playing experience to team owners/amateurs and job opportunities to a large pool of available higher-rated women players.

WOW looks to inspire players to form teams and enter prestigious tournaments by connecting new and seasoned players on the field. Experience in medium goal will be highly valuable preparing female members for premier women’s tournament play in the United States and beyond.

WOW LEAGUE INFORMATION

Flying Cow Polo Club will collaborate with the Wellington Polo Tour, Port Mayaca Polo Club (Okeechobee, Florida) and the National Polo Center – Wellington to create a schedule that will coordinate with the winter high-goal season and the U.S. Open Women’s Polo Championship. Flying Cow Polo Club has been awarded two USPA circuit tournaments to ensure high quality events and the league will conclude with a prestigious tournament to crown the season.

WOW and the Host Tournament Committee (Kaila Dowd, Kylie Sheehan, Haley Bryan, Maureen Brennan) have secured fields throughout Wellington, Port Mayaca, Hobe Sound and Loxahatchee, Florida. Prize money will be awarded to the winner of each final along with Most Valuable Player and Best Playing Pony awards.
