Locals are encouraged to prepare bold with a touch of green outfits for the international polo event.
One of South Africa’s most prestigious equestrian fixtures on the annual sporting and social calendar, The International Polo, proudly sponsored by Nedbank, returns to Inanda Polo Club on April 22.
This year’s dress theme is bold with a touch of green. It celebrates green, a colour that symbolises giving and harmony, and the boldness of using what you have to uplift those around you and embody what it means to be a new noble.
Khensani Nobanda, Nedbank Group executive of marketing and corporate affairs, said that the #NewNobility initiative, launched in 2019, aims to challenge attendees of the Nedbank International Polo event to use their influence to uplift their communities.
“It is about more than providing an unparalleled experience. It is also about creating a shared understanding of what it means to be a part of the new nobility, creating a better society.”
The highly anticipated sporting fixture is the longest-running polo test match, with a history spanning over 30 years. This year sees the return of India to battle it out on horseback against South Africa.
“The South African Polo Association has always enjoyed a good relationship with Indian Polo, and we have held two previous international events against them in this series,” said Nigel Pilling, president of the South African Polo Association.
Pilling added that the Indian Polo Association (IPA) was founded in 1892; the country has a rich heritage in the sport, and they look forward to a highly competitive encounter.
