3rd President National polo Cup C’ship 2024 day 2/ FG Polo Team Triumphant

On the Jinnah Polo Fields, FG Polo team registered an easy victory over BN Polo with a score of 9-5 on the second day of the 3rd President of Pakistan Polo Cup (National Open Championship) Finale 2024 at Jinnah Polo Fields. 

The next match, will be between BN Polo will face off against Master Paints/Diamond Paints on Saturday, 2nd March.  

Day 2 Match Overview

FG Polo, showcasing remarkable teamwork and strategy, secured their win with Raul Laplacette leading the charge. Laplacette, the star of the match, delivered an outstanding performance by netting seven goals, propelling FG Polo to 9-5 triumph.  

He was well-supported by teammates Andres Llorente and Mian Abbas Mukhtar, who contributed one goal each to the team’s tally. On the opposing side, BN Polo’s efforts were led by Hamza Mawaz Khan and Hilario Ruiz, each scoring two goals, with Santiago Loza adding one to their total. 

The match kicked off with FG Polo taking the reins early on, as they delivered a powerful start by netting two swift goals in the first chukker, establishing an early 2-0 lead. This initial momentum was further amplified at the start of the second chukker, with FG Polo extending their lead to a comfortable 3-0. However, BN Polo, undeterred by the early setback, mounted a vigorous comeback with two consecutive goals, narrowing the gap to a single point at 3-2. 

As the third chukker unfolded, the competition intensified, with both teams displaying exceptional skill and determination. The chukker was marked by an evenly matched battle, with each team managing to score one goal apiece. FG Polo maintained their slender lead at 4-3, setting the stage for a nail-biting continuation of the match. 

The fourth chukker turned the heat up further, with both teams adopting an aggressive approach in an attempt to seize control of the game. It was during this crucial phase that FG Polo demonstrated superior gameplay, outmaneuvering BN Polo to score four impressive goals. Despite BN Polo’s efforts, which resulted in two goals, FG Polo extended their lead to 8-5, showcasing their tactical superiority and teamwork. 

In the fifth and final chukker, FG Polo managed to score another, cementing their triumph with a final score of 9-5.

The match was expertly officiated by field umpires Nico Scortichini and Mark John Holmes, ensuring a fair and competitive environment.

3rd President National Polo C’ship 2024: Day 1 | DS Polo Team Victorious

The prestigious 3rd President of Pakistan Polo Cup (National Open Championship) Finale 2024, kicked off with flair at the Jinnah Polo Fields. The tournament’s opener saw DS Polo claiming victory over Master Paints/Diamond Paints with a score of 10-7. 

The tournament continues on Thursday, 29th February, 2024 with FG Polo set to face BN Polo.

The event, hailed as a highlight on Pakistan’s polo calendar, features top-tier teams including DS Polo, Master Paints/Diamond Paints, BN Polo, and FG Polo, each boasting international talent among their ranks.

Day 1 Match Overview

The clash between DS Polo and Master Paints/Diamond Paints was a showcase of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship. English player Maxwell Charlton and Nico Roberts were the stars for DS Polo, scoring six and four goals respectively. Their opponents saw Juan Zubiaurre leading the charge with five goals, supported by Raja Temur Nadeem’s two-goal contribution. 

The opening chukker set the tone for an evenly matched contest, with both teams  demonstrating skill and determination. However, DS Polo edged out slightly ahead, securing a narrow 3-2 lead in the first chukker. The momentum firmly shifted in favor of DS Polo during the second chukker, where their exceptional gameplay shone, allowing them to net three consecutive goals and extend their lead to a commanding 6-2. 

Continuing their dominant streak into the third chukker, DS Polo effortlessly added another trio of goals to their tally, further widening the gap to 9-3, despite a solitary goal from Master Paints/Diamond Paints. The fourth chukker saw a spirited fightback from Master Paints/Diamond Paints, who managed to slot in three goals in quick succession, narrowing the deficit to 9-6. 

The final and crucial fifth chukker commenced with DS Polo strengthening their position with an early goal, pushing the score to 10-6. Undeterred, Master Paints/Diamond Paints mounted several aggressive offensives towards DS Polo’s goal. Despite their efforts, they were only able to materialize one goal, concluding the match with a 10-7 victory for DS Polo.
