Fifth Chukker earmarks tournaments for 2024 Polo Season

As the Nigerian polo fraternity warms up for the resumption of the national polo tour, Fifth Chukker Polo & Country Club has announced its tournament calendar for the 2024 playing season.

The schedule which spans three continents will see the Nigerian polo club organizing and hosting tournaments in Nigeria, United Kingdoms, South Africa and Argentina in Southern America.

According to the  release, the 2024 polo season will gallop off next month with the Easter/ Eid polo tournament billed for the lawns of the Kangimi Resort in Kaduna between  April 11 and 14 celebrate the end of the Islam and Christian religious festivities.

Following on the heels of the religious holiday events, the prestigious polo resort will fling its door open for the Children Day celebration on May 27, before hosting its flagship annual tournament, the Access Bank UNICEF Charity Shield tournament  between  May 28 and  June2.

The prestigious charity event revered as the biggest and the richest in the continent that has been solely sponsored by Access Bank since 2009 will expertly move to high gears as the charity polo extravaganza hit the United Kingdom with the Access Bank UK Polo Day in London.

The Charity Shield Polo Tournament that raise fund from sponsors, partners and well spirited members of the public in support of UNICEF campaigns in aid of the less privilege and vulnerable children in Kaduna State and its environs, will climax in South Africa with the Access Bank South Africa Polo Day in December14, 2024.

It was also  gathered that before the trip to South Africa, Fifth Chucker will host a special tournament on October 1, to mark the 2024 Independence Day Anniversary in a series of activities with the noble game of king at the center stage.

Between  October 21 and 27, the Kangimi Resort will play host to the best of Nigerian polo patrons and professional players around the world for this year’s Emir of Zazzau African Patrons Cup polo tournament.

The tournament also supports an awareness campaign against the dreaded Breast Cancer pandemic among women through its Pink Polo component that runs side by side with the Patrons Cup showdown.

One other foreign tournament will see Fifth Chukker travel to Southern America between  November12 and 24, for the Argentina Polo Experience at Pillar, Argentina, before returning home for the five days back-to-back Christmas Holiday polo tournament  between December 25 and 29 in Kaduna.

The last tournament in the 2024 polo calendar year to be hosted by the Resort is the New Year Mini Polo Tournament scheduled between December31 and  January 1, 2025 at the expansive club that boasts lush playing turfs, sporting facilities and lots of offerings for a perfect holiday experience.
