The Texas Arena League (TAL) is preparing for another outstanding season packed with six weeks of arena polo including diverse levels of play from C-Flight (polo school level competition) to 6-9 goals at four different locations around the Lone Star State.
Two USPA national tournaments and several USPA circuit events will be played during the 2024 Texas Arena League including the National Arena Delegate’s Cup, Southwestern Circuit Arena General George S. Patton Jr., National Arena Bronze Cup and other USPA armed forces and arena tournaments.
Returning sponsors for 2024 include: U.S. Polo Assn., Patton Legacy Sports, Nutrena, Galvin Agency, Jackrabbit Tack, Royal B Threads, Casablanca, Aubone Polo Mallets, The Jockey Club Thoroughbred Incentive Program, Polo Interactive, JD Polo, Elite Motion and Performance, Murrell Photography and US Arena Polo.
New sponsors for 2024 include: Polo Training Foundation (PTF), Hive2O Hard Honey, Hopward, Proton Partners, Bar-Spur LLC, Christian Brothers Emergency Building Services and Grand Central Stables.
In 2023, the 0-3 goal was so popular that it filled within six minutes of electronic entries opening. Consequently, the Armadillo Division was created. The 2024 Armadillo Division has room to expand to 12 teams in 2024. On the heels of Armadillo and with popularity increasing at all levels, Texas Arena League is adding a B-Flight for 2024. The B-Flight is for players rated -1 to 0 that have had a significant amount of experience to “graduate” from C-Flight. B-Flight will be played as four chukker games on Fridays during the Classic Division.
Texas Arena League has competition in C-Flight at both Armadillo and Classic Divisions, B-Flight, 0-3 goal at both Armadillo and Classic Divisions, 3-6 goal and 6-9 goal–there is a competitive level for everyone!
In 2023 TAL added a new location, Dripping Springs Ranch Park, a municipal facility located in the Austin area with a covered arena, plenty of stabling and a wide variety of amenities for spectators. For 2024, an additional location is being added, the San Antonio Rose Palace which has hosted arena polo in the past. The San Antonio Rose Palace is another location with a variety of spectator amenities, stabling and two covered arenas.
