The Big Red Drop Contest With UConn 18-10 on Friday Night

ITHACA, N.Y.— The Cornell men’s polo team fell to 4-3 on the season with an 18-10 loss to the University of Connecticut on Friday night at the Oxley Equestrian Center.

Junior Benito Jaramillo Samper led the Big Red in goals with four. Freshmen Max Sponer and Dylan Tung each notched two and senior Christian Finlay had one.

“A disappointing loss for our guys to be sure,” said Peter B. Orthwein ’68 Head Coach of Polo Anthony Condo Jr. “However, we did a lot of really great things as we found our offensive stride in the second chukker. Defensively though, we had far too many breakdowns that led to us playing catch-up throughout the night and left a couple of really talented players wide open and in scoring position.”
