ITHACA, N.Y. — The Cornell women’s polo team finished its fall season with a dominant 19-3 victory over Skidmore College to end the fall with an overall record of 8-3.
Junior Lara Chong led the Big Red in scoring with seven goals on the night and freshman Naomi Marlough followed with three. Senior Ava Ramachandran, fifth-year Isabelle Braden, fifth-year Charlotte Book and fifth-year Samantha Symons each had two goals in the game.
FIRST CHUCKER
- In the first chucker, Cornell scored five unanswered goals. Naomi Marlough opened the scoring with two, Lara Chong followed with two of her own and Ava Ramachandran finished the chucker with a goal.
SECOND CHUCKER
- Chong opened the second chucker scoring with a goal for Cornell to put the Big Red up 6-0.
- Georgia Polk notched a goal for Skidmore.
- Cornell went on a four goal run to end the second chucker 10-1.
THIRD CHUCKER
- Chong scored two goals back-to-back to open the third chucker.
- Tamar Azulay answered with a goal for Skidmore to end the third chucker. Cornell still had the lead 12-2.
FOURTH CHUCKER
- The fourth chucker opened with Charlotte Book scoring a goal for Cornell.
- Polk answered with a goal for Skidmore.
- The Big Red scored seven points in a row to end the game with a 19-3 victory.
